Status Update

Hi all, a quick update

meetup.com group
-so far so good, just gotta make sure i give more notice
-100% attendence truth rating (those who RSVP is accurate)
-will host more meetups

-great to add details ref=(block#)
-great to have mapping parties with

-great for creating routes & using tracks

canvec2osm
-v0.90 working on dealing with 16 tiles at once
-loading .zip files to mediafire

Ontario MNR trails
-just waiting to get confirmation of fax recieved to get access to data
-need to make rules.txt file for it

Garmin maps
-need to figure how to make combined contour maps
-shp files are in canvec zip

OSM atlas
-author working on making sample file

Proposed paved National Cycle route
-need to go to Port Alberni to get tracks (ferry route)
-need to make est draft route with bikemap.net

geobase roads
-need to work with the postGIS pros to get complete.osm files

geobaseNHN2osm
-yan from quebec working on importing
-need to convert for Van island

Trans Canada Trail
-will be listed as 2nd name
-not listed as route (not designated NHN nor NCN)

Ottawa -OSGeo OSM

-wont be able togo, but will host uStream.tv conference in lue
-webinar

wikiMap tourist maps
-pending on more van island data
-template in works

OSM community
-focusing on how imported data will be available to copy over, (by
local mappers) than imported directly.

Routes:
Across Canada Trail - 0 -Touring Bike Across Canada
This is the Trans Canada Highway Route Across Canada (Paved shoulder all the way)

Across Canada Trails: 1-Easiest route (paved roads)
This is the Paved Alternate to the Gravel route (below) going along side roads, following as close as possible.

Across Canada Trails: 2 -Medium Gravel Route
This is the Gravel route, which follows the recommended route across Canada, then connects the Official Trans Canada Recreational Trail posted route segments, and makes its way across the country. (check www.tctrail.ca for the official information on the trail)

Across Canada Trails: 3 - Hard Dirt Route
This is the hiking / walking route (not included in this latest version, but will for the next) which connects to the gravel routes and paved routes.
